Birthday Envelope 2023 design

Its another one of those "might as well post this even though its not what ever this season is from" post. Since the way it looks it really doesn't matter. It really could look like any season themed stuff. Well, its actually for a fall birthday but then it could be as I said before any season except winter I guess. Its yet more envelope art. Yay! This time we have a teddy bear on a swing theme. Turned out really cute. As usual I drew it quickly with blue pencil, covered it with white acrylic and added some colour with coloured pencil and marker. Very nice!

Also I think my slightly secret really big experimental project its at its half way point. I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The editing stage will go quite fast depending how many personal tasks are going to get in the way since the yard work is nearing its new season of "must do". That and other things I have to complete as well. Again I hope its not all for nothing since I did put in a lot of time and effort in completing this personal project. Finger's crossed and lots of prayers.

Christmas Envelope 2022

I thought I post this anyways even though it's Christmas themed....technically.  Its more envelope art I made based on the theme of a card. This one is a few years old but I only recently had a chance to fix it up for display. The theme was penguin friends giving Christmas gifts to each other. One of them had this fish wrapped up in some festive paper. So I quickly made this cute embellishment onto the envelope using pencil and then painting it with some white acrylic. I was trying to keep things simple so it would look like a gift tag. But I think I went a little over board.

I guess it would also pass as some other holiday decorations too, such as Valentine's day. Its mostly red after all and catching a fish can also symbolize catching one's love or giving a gift of love. Sharing or whatever you find highly of value. I guess it would be in the eye of the beholder as to what it means to someone. Over all its nice to look at. Getting a surprise is nice too.

Oh yeah speaking of surprises, I changed the Twitter/X feed thingy since it wasn't working like it used to. Greedy Elon wants money for that function apparently. So whatever. You can still see the feed but you have to get past the pooping bird button I made and placed in the usual feed spot.  Just watch out for the poop. LOL πŸ˜›Just kidding, the button will take you to my feed. Not giving that super rich guy what little money I have. 😏

Easter bunny envelope 2022

Looks like I'm catching up! Yay!

Alright the last few year's I have been working on a secret personal project and was too busy with making homemade cards for friend and relations. So what I usually do is make a little something like decorating an envelope instead. So I drew I little something quickly and added a bit of colour to it.

Hope you like my cute little busy Easter bunny transporting a very large decorated egg. Of course decorated with the address of a friend. For personal privacy, I deleted most of the address.

I used a simple blue drawing pencil for easily erasable mistakes and great for quick sketches, used coloured pencils and markers to add the colour.

Sorry I posted this a bit late for Easter time but it is still April after all.

Also, now available, you can now see my previous card in my personal web site. As always just go to the menu at the side of this blog.

Available for purchase you can now buy this lovely skate board featuring a dynamic little gecko packing POW! He's a Karate expert. I drew him many years ago for a friends profile as a gift. Edited and coloured in a digital image program.

Thanks for visiting! πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Spring gnome Easter card 2021

Featuring another homemade greeting card from a few years ago cause I'm doing the best I can to catching up on my "show n tell" stuff here on my blog.

This one features a cute spring gnome, not a leprechaun, holding up a lilly of the valley flower stock for you. I know what you're thinking, but its a gnome, all right?

I made a drawing of my character and then traced it on to a separate piece of specialized paper. I think it was either water colour paper or a piece of card.  I used coloured pencil and markers to add colour. For the background I made that on water colour paper and painted that with water colours and maybe a bit of acrylic as well. They turned out pretty pleasing and gave me that happy feeling like it was meant to. Then cut out my gnome with an exacto knife, carefully gluing and then placed it on to its background. It's been a few years so if I remember correctly I had already cut it into a card before painting? Or did I place that on some other folded card? Oh well none the less I did put it all together and wrote a few nice words of Easter greetings for a good friend. I also decorated a nice envelope to go with my card but I didn't have to make the envelope this time. I guess I had one on hand that didn't get ruined for one reason or another.

Oh and oh yeah, I came up with the gnome theme since the last few years gnomes seemed to be popular. Thought it might make a fun card for someone. I still see a few gnome themes, just not sure how popular they still are.

Anyways I hope you enjoy it and gives you a bit of joy. 😊 Most things in the world today, do not. πŸ˜”

As always will be also be placed in my personal web site in the future for viewing.

An update and a small show N tell

Now displayed at my personal web site "Homemade Fall birthday card 2021 with leaf characters".

The link can be found in the side menu to your right. Also a lovely whimsical envelope art from 2020 that I just got around to sharing. Didn't need to make a card this time around. Just as well, that's when I started to work on this project that's taking a lot of my time for now. Hopefully not all for nothing.  So this cute little envelope illustration I made to match the theme of the card was just all it needed.

Created with coloured pencil, some marker and on an envelope.

Hope you like it.

Home made Fall birthday greeting card 2021

Welcome to another "catch up" share posting. 😜😊This time we have another fall birthday theme with some cute whimsical fall leave characters. It was very similarly created like another b day card I shared a few years ago. I used coloured pencil on coloured construction paper, layering on the drawing and colours till I got a satisfying result. I added a finishing touch with plastic google eyes like the cherry on top of a cup cake since I wasn't satisfied with the whimsy. Well that and the fact that the smirk made me feel a bit uneasy and might be taken the wrong way. In the end it turned out great. It was actually completed that same year just didn't use it right away for other reasons. Hope you like it. 😊

First I free-handed an image in a yellow pencil to make it stand out. πŸ”»

Second phase. Starting to add shading. Finding my way around the card. πŸ”»

Third phase. Really starting to take shape. Got to keep on working. πŸ”»
Forth phase. Just about done. πŸ”»

All done and added the inside part of the card. Google eyes added. So cute!πŸ”»

As always, I placed the image illustration on a piece of some kind of white card stock I had on hand. I can't remember what it was because it was a while ago but I'm pretty sure I got it out of my box o bits and pieces. That's where my small pieces of leftovers go when I finish a project. Comes it handy and less environmental waste.

Added a cute message and other things of which I will not share for privacy reasons. Mostly created using marker and some coloured pencil πŸ”Ί

Since I didn't have an envelope on hand I simply made one out of an orange child goody bag purchased at any dollar store. Pretty inexpensive at the time but who knows these days with all this crazy inflation. πŸ˜’ Anyways I took the bag apart and folded it into the distinctive envelope shape. The size was pretty spot on for my needs. Then I put on the address and decorated it a bit with some cute fall leaves. As always personal info was omitted for obvious reasons.
Hope you enjoyed my latest "make" even thought technically it was made a few years back. But its new to you, right?
Thank you for visiting and as always it will be featured soon at my personal web site when I get around to it. 😊

Birthday card with Porcupine and flowers 2020

As usual I'm a bit late on posting the latest things.

Unfortunately because of personal chaos of completing many, many tasks this year and the lose of my beloved cat Meetso, the thought of my friend's birthday got lost in the fray.  Hopefully I can do my best next year to remember. πŸ˜•I marked it on my calendar to make sure. Better make sure its on next's year's calendar too.

Here we have a lovely card I partially repurposed for a friend's fall birthday. The original birthday greeting card was a bit too ordinary so I decided to customize it was a cute porcupine drawing and painted it with some of the flowers already featured on the card. It made sense to have the flowers stuck all over his quills. They make a handy friendship flower holder don't they?

Drawing is one of a kind, sketched by me on tracing paper. I wasn't sure at first as to how I was going to place the drawing onto the card. So this is why its on tracing paper.

Painted with water and acrylic on water colour paper after being placed and glued onto a greeting card. Pretty, but now enhanced to be even better.

Will post it soon in my personal web site.

Thanks for viewing!

Giant Fake Marker Storage Tube

Its another one of those "pop in post" postings. Posting when ever I can post. Only bare with me since I haven't been getting much sleep lately and then there's the fact I'm super busy. A nice combination to make you sleepy and lazy. Might make my writing a bit lazy too.

Anyhow this time I'm featuring a cool way of storing all those posters you have laying around taking up needless space all over the place.  Basically you take a boring old poster tube and make it look like a giant marker. A much nicer way of storing all those posters out of the way. You can now display it on a wall next to a giant pencil like I have or make a giant container such as a giant pencil case. Its up to you. Hears how you can make one.

You need one empty poster tube. A good place to find one for free is possibly in a not so dirty dumpster. Usually containing cardboard of various things such as boxes. Or maybe get a used one from the mail. Or going the paid rout, you can get one from a post office, parcel service office or office supply place. Its up to you. Then you can then design a template with your favorite image editing program. If you don't have one there's are many free ones online available to download. And or you can use a template I designed as a starting point. It cuts down on some of the work. (template will be uploaded at a later date)You also need a large white sheet of some kind to cover the tube so you can have a nice clean slate to glue and stack your designs on the tube to make it look like a marker. A nice white sheet of paper is best. I happen to have a few things like old shiny scrap papers that I have been saving in my odds and ends closet. Also helps to have a marker for a reference for inspiration. I myself used a design marker. You can use any type as inspiration or just come up with something you like. Once you have every thing ready its time to simply bring it all together.

I decided to make my fake marker red.  I put a personal spin on my design as well. My marker poster tube is currently sitting in my miniature basement studio next to the giant pencil. Its a nice souvenir from Croatia given to me by a dear friend. She's past away now.

The following pics are examples of my process and end result. Enjoy!

Empty boring poster tube. πŸ”Ί

Close up of finished fake marker poster tube. πŸ”Ί

I already had some other paper such as this red paper that I added to indicate the colour of the marker. But you can add colour with paint or whatever method you like.

More pics of the finished fake marker poster tube. πŸ”Ί

What it looks like on a wall. How fun!  πŸ”Ί
Can't see the giant pencil I know but its there. Trust me.

Great! I hope you enjoyed my latest project. I hope you try and make your own. I'm tired and I'm going to bed now. Good night! πŸ˜ͺZzzzzzzzzzzzz

Finished Dreaming Poodle night shirt

Again, hello world and blog. Like I posted in my other blog, its been awhile. I know. I always say that, but I have been busy with a personal project. Hoping that it will pan out. πŸ™But the way the world is right now, makes me wish I could leave the planet for something better. A planet without AHoles! I ask my self every day lately, "do I even have a future? Is there a point?" "Is there anything for anyone? "I really hope that mister constipated P is not going to wreak the whole world with his selfishness.  Rich people at the top who feel have the right to "pull the strings" make me sick!" 😑You know who you are!!! You will pay by your own hand! Then you will ask"what was the point?!"

Anyways here is how that Dreaming Poodle Night shirt turned out. Very beautifully and just what I needed. Hopefully I will get to make more of these but it seems to get harder and harder to find the time to make personal things for my self. But still going to try.

Again, I had purchased a nice extra large magenta tank top or well, a plus size. Because I like loose for sleeping. Normally I wear an extra large for day time use shirts. I made a cute drawing of a poodle sleeping and drew some novelty text to enhance my design. Hand printed it onto the tank top. Then hand painted as well as airbrushed the whole thing in fabric acrylic. Finished it by clear coating it.Wore it quite comfortably last summer. 😊

Croatian Style Paintbrush Patterns Set

New and now out there. A new set of paintbrush patterns based on a recent or previous vector set. It's mainly for use in Illustrator but may be possible to use in similar programs as well. I don't know for sure cause I really haven't used them in that way my self in those competing programs.

Oh and also these won't be featured in my personal web site since I already have a similar vector illustration on display. See previous post, here

Homemade Easter card 2020

Last year when the pandemic came out and right around that time it started to rage all over the world. I made this card with that theme in mind, only a bit friendlier in nature. Sure, this situation is not the greatest to be in but I guess its better to be positive instead of the latter.

So anyways I made this card featuring a cute Easter bunny giving out much needed toilet paper and other pandemic fare that was a bit hard to find as a result of pandemic purchasing.

Using some leftover poster board and watercolour paper I had in my "leftovers box", the card was all homemade. I just drew an image that inspired me at the time and coloured it in with marks and some coloured pencil. The background was made using some water colour before the rest of the image was completed of course. Finished it off with some fine tipped marker. The card it self was covered in some tissue paper before I placed the watercolour image on. I also had laying around. I chose red and white since I really didn't have much variety to choose from. I guess in the future I'll have to collect some more from the dollar store or where ever. None the less it really turned out nice and it covered the flaws in the poster board such as wrinkles.  Since I had no envelope to place the card in, I found an old poster I collected a few years before from a store that was selling alcohol. They often get rid of stuff like old poster advertisements, the tubes they come in and other interesting useful things at the end of seasons. So the poster had this nice abstract pattern with lots of cheery colours on it that reminded me of the season of spring and Easter. So I chose a spot to use for the envelope. I was pretty lucky the poster was the way it was and not specific to any image. It made it perfect for that use. So I folded it all up till it finally it became a nice useful envelope. I added a nice piece of copy paper on to the front so that I could put on directions to where it has to go. The envelope was too colourful and glossy to be written on anyhow. Then I just put everything together and sent it off to make someones day last Easter. My friend really got a kick out of it. 😊

Dreaming Poodle night shirt "The making of" Part2

Some more lovely pics of my night shirt. They're pretty much done in these pics only some details to be added. Will be show later in the final part of the project. You can see this time there was a lot more airbrushing that was applied. Makes it come alive doesn't it? BTW I'm taking advantage of the colour that's already there for my starting point of the shirt illustration.

See previous post for how I started off with this project.  As always hope you like it. 😊

Airbrushed bed spread with dark blue Pansies design.

Like the descriptions say here are the pics of my finished airbrushed bed spread featuring dark blue pansy blossoms. Finished months ago, only now shared. Sorry about the quality of the pic. I know its a bit dark so I fixed them up as much as I could. But you can see the pics were on the cusp of being over done. Just have to make due sometimes I guess.

Also might as well post the previous post of the work in progress relating to this project. You can see my explanation as to what can happen sometimes when things don't always go the way you want them.

Pics are better in that post too. Just lighting I guess.

Since then I also decided to airbrush the flowers on the old pillow cases too. But never bothered to take pics of those since they pretty much look all the same as a set.

Looks even better in person. 😊

Dreaming Poodle Night Shirt origional drawings and some work in progress

First off Happy New year. Hopefully it will be a better year to come but well you know. I'll keep out the negativity because there's enough of it to go around and we certainly don't need more of it and or around here anyways.

Going to post some new stuff. Just a hint of it for now since there's a lot of it to show. I actually completed this months ago but I find my self always busy completing something.

Its of a night shirt with a sleeping dreaming poodle on it. Its both airbrushed and hand painted. I decided to make one since it so hard to find one at a fair price these days. I decided to match it with a pair of I think they're shorts or capri style of PJ pants which also have a doggy theme to them. I'm too lazy to find out what they are for sure. The painted image character and text was made on to a extra, extra large tank top for plus size people for personal comfort. I prefer loose fitting especially for sleeping in. My actual size I prefer is large to extra large fitting for normal daytime use.

Also in the to do list update the links in my personal website regarding past works of holiday cards. Oh well.

semi-homemade Christmas bells and angel greeting card 2019

Another homemade greeting card from last season no doubt. Well semi-homemade. I found this old unused card (probably purchased years ago in the 80's) one time while organizing some stuff. It was still in great shape but a little boring in my opinion. So I decided to jazz it up with a cute angel character since this was a Christmas themed greeting card. Since there was a strong theme of bells also, I drew the little sassy angel character carrying a much too large bell on a piece of tracing paper first. I did this so I can make sure the character would fit on the card and not take up too much space. Then as usual I redrew and traced the character on a piece of card stock and as usual coloured it up. I cut it out and, finally pasted it on and there we go. But I found out that there was no envelope with the card. So I had to make one with what ever I could find. I was lucky enough to score some wrapping paper with the theme of Christmas bells on a shelf in the basement, long forgotten too. Perfect! Made the envelope and placed some white paper on the one side so I could write the important stuff such as mailing address and other. Done!

I will not show it in the usual spot in my personal site but will feature a link to this post there since this card is only semi-homemade.

πŸ”ΊThis is the original sketch of the sassy angel character I made on tracing paper with blue pencil.

A great pencil to use for sketching drawings of all kinds. Makes it easier to erase and not leave too many strong marks. 😊

πŸ”ΊWhile working on this card I remembered the movie "Its a wonderful life" and the part of the little girl's dialogue in the movie. " Teacher says....Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings."  Anyways I used mostly markers, some coloured pencils and a touch of a special metallic marker. The gold one obviously. I used some kind of tissue paper for the speech bubble so I could get that "see though" look. 😊

πŸ”ΊThe front of the envelope. Address and embellishments done in gold metallic markers with a touch of red. Personal parts of the address removed. 😊

Also a small update to some of my links in the side menu. Now usable. LOL πŸ˜›
