Christmas Envelope 2022

I thought I post this anyways even though it's Christmas themed....technically.  Its more envelope art I made based on the theme of a card. This one is a few years old but I only recently had a chance to fix it up for display. The theme was penguin friends giving Christmas gifts to each other. One of them had this fish wrapped up in some festive paper. So I quickly made this cute embellishment onto the envelope using pencil and then painting it with some white acrylic. I was trying to keep things simple so it would look like a gift tag. But I think I went a little over board.

I guess it would also pass as some other holiday decorations too, such as Valentine's day. Its mostly red after all and catching a fish can also symbolize catching one's love or giving a gift of love. Sharing or whatever you find highly of value. I guess it would be in the eye of the beholder as to what it means to someone. Over all its nice to look at. Getting a surprise is nice too.

Oh yeah speaking of surprises, I changed the Twitter/X feed thingy since it wasn't working like it used to. Greedy Elon wants money for that function apparently. So whatever. You can still see the feed but you have to get past the pooping bird button I made and placed in the usual feed spot.  Just watch out for the poop. LOL ๐Ÿ˜›Just kidding, the button will take you to my feed. Not giving that super rich guy what little money I have. ๐Ÿ˜

An update and a small show N tell

Now displayed at my personal web site "Homemade Fall birthday card 2021 with leaf characters".

The link can be found in the side menu to your right. Also a lovely whimsical envelope art from 2020 that I just got around to sharing. Didn't need to make a card this time around. Just as well, that's when I started to work on this project that's taking a lot of my time for now. Hopefully not all for nothing.  So this cute little envelope illustration I made to match the theme of the card was just all it needed.

Created with coloured pencil, some marker and on an envelope.

Hope you like it.

semi-homemade Christmas bells and angel greeting card 2019

Another homemade greeting card from last season no doubt. Well semi-homemade. I found this old unused card (probably purchased years ago in the 80's) one time while organizing some stuff. It was still in great shape but a little boring in my opinion. So I decided to jazz it up with a cute angel character since this was a Christmas themed greeting card. Since there was a strong theme of bells also, I drew the little sassy angel character carrying a much too large bell on a piece of tracing paper first. I did this so I can make sure the character would fit on the card and not take up too much space. Then as usual I redrew and traced the character on a piece of card stock and as usual coloured it up. I cut it out and, finally pasted it on and there we go. But I found out that there was no envelope with the card. So I had to make one with what ever I could find. I was lucky enough to score some wrapping paper with the theme of Christmas bells on a shelf in the basement, long forgotten too. Perfect! Made the envelope and placed some white paper on the one side so I could write the important stuff such as mailing address and other. Done!

I will not show it in the usual spot in my personal site but will feature a link to this post there since this card is only semi-homemade.

๐Ÿ”บThis is the original sketch of the sassy angel character I made on tracing paper with blue pencil.

A great pencil to use for sketching drawings of all kinds. Makes it easier to erase and not leave too many strong marks. ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ”บWhile working on this card I remembered the movie "Its a wonderful life" and the part of the little girl's dialogue in the movie. " Teacher says....Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings."  Anyways I used mostly markers, some coloured pencils and a touch of a special metallic marker. The gold one obviously. I used some kind of tissue paper for the speech bubble so I could get that "see though" look. ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ”บThe front of the envelope. Address and embellishments done in gold metallic markers with a touch of red. Personal parts of the address removed. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Also a small update to some of my links in the side menu. Now usable. LOL ๐Ÿ˜›

Its now or never

Its now or never. This should have been posted about two years ago but it just get pushed back again and again, so I give up. I know its not Christmas anymore but I assure you they're really not that Christmassy but kind of. The following images were sort of Christmas/doodle gifts for a friend that I drew on an envelope. They're not highly developed but they do have some nice shading and are great drawings to see how I go though the process of drawing characters, loosely at least. Normally I like to paint these up or other est but as is are still really nice to look at. Besides I was going for fun and spontaneity. BTW she really enjoyed the drawings too. ๐Ÿ˜Š
Because these are loose character drawings in the raw they will not be featured in my personal site as is,  but I am contemplating on adding a link to them in my personal site in the future.
In the mean time enjoy.

A bit early for Christmas in July

Its a bit early for this but not too early for people in the media industry.

Just some simple clip art in a Christmas ball theme.

Only two more of these similar sets to go.

In the drawing stage some Easter themed clip art. ;)
