Little Ballet Girl 2 painted up

Now that most of my distractions are taken care of I can post my other painting of the Little Ballet girl. Just as before, painted on canvas in water colour with a bit of acrylic. Painting is 8.5 x11

The original reference

The finished painting.
Close up of face.

As I said before, a little different as in position and added a sort of a flower arch in the bg but still in keeping in the style of the other one I painted earlier. I was able to make her more prevent this time around since I did not have to make the skirt/dress as wide.
As before the original owner was very pleased.  🐱

The previous painting.

And see the previous process that eventually ended up the Little Ballet girl 2 painting.

Little Ballet Girl 2 final before painting.

Sorry, got sidetracked as usual. Here's the final before I traced it on to canvas and painted it all up. I had planned up adding a nice flower arch to go in the background. A bit different from the other background but still in keeping with the other painting I did. Still have to add the other drawings to my flicker account.

Soooo much to do and yet always someone that adds a wrench in to my plans. 🐱😖

Little Ballet Girl 2 polished drawings

As always here are some polished drawings of the Little Ballet Girl 2 project as I like to call it phase 2.

I later ended up combining the two in favour of the other head and leg.
Still had a bit of an issue in spots like the skirt.  🐱

Little Ballet Girl 2 conte drawings

Merry Christmas every one.
Anyways I have new drawings from my second commission. Just completed the whole project a few days ago actually just haven't had the time to post n such. But yeah all painted up.
Its the same little girl just in a slightly different pose. I drew lots of heads, a few bodies and a number of right legs just to get the position right
I really worked on getting the skirt height just right as well. You can see I goofed up a few times.
Of course the recipient will get her completed painting after new years. After the celebration craziness is done with and life returns to normal.
As always the drawings will also be in my Flicker account soon. 😺

Final drawing Little ballet girl

Been pretty busy with stuff. But anyways here's the finally drawing finished a few weeks ago.
Assembled and changed some minor things like the angle of the eyes and mouth. Apparently I overlooked that. Then traced it on to canvas. Currently working on the background which will mostly be in monotone pinks. Just hope the recipient will be pleased with the results.

Little Ballet Girl part2

Some polished drawings completed last weekend based on the conte sketches I made earlier. But since then I have taken those drawings and made a final with a few more changes of course. Some parts of these drawings I ended up not using after all.

Little Ballet Girl conte drawings

Its official. I got the a commission to do a portrait. And not just one, but two. Its of a little great grand daughter in a ballet pose at a wedding. Background optional, but I think its nice to have at least a bit of a background of some kind. I'll just painted it in light so that she's not floating in the air.
I already started the drawings on the first one several weeks ago, finished the second phase drawings a few days ago. (Those are more detailed drawings.) The final, going to finish those soon and then of course transferring the image onto a flat canvas for painting. I decided to show the original pic together with the finished painting at the end. Over all of course I have permission to show from the owner which is a rare occurrence these days.

The following are conte drawings. A series a rough drawings to show and figure out how the body should look and all that. To keep that looseness so that your drawings won't look stiff. I'm sure you've seen those. I could have just traced those but then you're then just neglecting yourself an opportunity for growth.

I drew heads mostly since I really had a hard time seeing the details on the little photo I was given. Yes I enlarged it but it was still difficult to see. As for that adult head, well I was a bit off the path there and it didn't look like a kid's head and so you know. ;)
The same problem with the hands. At first to me it looked like she was holding on to her dress but was actually just in the air as she twirled in place. Another difficult to see situation if you don't take a more careful look. As for the body, I only did a few drawings of those and had pretty much figured out how I wanted it to look.

The best drawings will be preserved on a online photo album. That I still have to update as well since there are a few problems with it.

Till next time. :)

New Year Oops Baby

Currently catching up on things…. gradually so here’s the latest vector graphics for your viewing pleasure.

It’s a bit belated as usual as of late. Inspired by the New Year with a touch of precocious. There will be more versions like this in the future.

Oh yeah, please excuse the diaper slippage. LOL

Sunny the lion cat.

Well here it is. First ever published book I illustrated. Not too shabby If do say so my self.
Its about this orange gregarious kitty who is very much like one of my former fur babies, who at first is lost but was found and not only was found but found a home and loving forever home.

I was quite surprised though to see it for purchase on an online store. Quite unexpected since I already had it pictured being sold in the usual manner by getting processed and then being sold at a local book store or a place like Amazon. I guess its another sign of the modern times. Especially now since more and more people are opting in for electronic book tablets like the ones used on Star trek. I guess it’s the wave of the future. This book though is still available in colorful traditional book form. Personally I really still prefer something that you can flip though the pages your self. Just simply more easer on the eyes and a feast for the mind n heart. I may try out this company in the future my self since I have lots of stuff that I usually use for my cartoon ideas that would make awesome adventure stories too.

I really hope that the children of Marella who is the author of this book btw really enjoys this surprise.
Btw this book is dedicated to Mirella’s daughter in the memory of the sweet and fun Sunny who obviously brought sunshine in the families lives.

The illustrations are done with traditional water colours, gouaches and some coffee ink.

Please note, what you’ll see is a bit of a sampler or a proto book of what can be purchased in the whole book. The whole book will be a polished version and not have blue lines est.

Hope you guys like it and maybe some will purchase it for your kids.

Happy Exploring. :)

St Francis walks with Children

As I said before, normally this only takes me a few weeks if I have no distractions but yeah I had distractions and there fore finished it in several months, as you know. But they were good distractions.....mostly.

I started with sketches then some life drawing studies. Then I put together some layouts. When I was completely satisfied, I began putting on the colour. I used coffee ink allot for the base colour but did use it more intensely in other spots as needed. Then I laid out the watercolour and gouache and worked on the people last. Over all I'm quite happy as to the way it turned out but I found it quite difficult to get the detail of the faces to the way I wanted them with a fine and not to mention tiny brush. Touched it up in Photoshop since I had to scan the piece in two parts.

Other then posting my painting, I updated some small things at my web site like links est.
