No gmos set1

New vector yeay!
I decided the time was right to make some nice new vector lables based on all this GMO nonsense that other people try to make us eat. They also seem to think they own the copyright on life.
Last time I checked they are only people, not God.

Anyways enjoy.
Oh yeah also may be viewed shortly on my web site as well.

Deco shelled face plate

Just perfect for summer vacation time, not that I'm going on a vacation any time soon. :(
Oh well but I have gone in the past and collected these wonderful shells from Florida.
I like to use them every now and then like this project for instance. But not all of them. I'd like to save some of them for reference after all. :)

Anyhow I had this really boring and ugly old light switch face plate I had to look at every day for several years now and I finally had it. Since I always wanted a tropical themed design for my house but currently can't, :( I decided to at least add my personal touch to at least my personal space. The bed room.

I took one brand new plain Jane light switch face plate and I first painted it with a special acrylic that simulated the inside of a shell. A sort of a pearly white look. I then glued an assortment of shells and arranged it in a certain pleasing way. Then finally clear-coated it with an acrylic gloss and for the finishing touches added some simulated pearls.

Now I have something to switch on with a bit of class.

Happy Easter Egg

April showers brought these May flowers, on this egg. OK, so its not a real egg and the flowers are imaginary. The lettering isn't even real gold but it is my artwork seeded by my imagination.
But can't you just smell the flowers and doesn’t the gold lettering just glisten on the Happy Easter part?
I think the last Easter egg in this series is my most favorite which is suprising considering that most of the time my favorite stuff feature animal themes and or stuff with toons on them.
Yup its the last egg but fear not, new things are always in the making.
Kind of fitting don't you think?

Duck egg

A little belated in the show n tell sorry about that.
Its been so nice outside I took care of some of the outdoor stuff.

Anyways What goes well with April showers? A family of ducks of course.
It was worth making many pics of the egg since this one has so much to see.

If you look closely you will even see a bonus creature that loves the water.

Bottom of egg. See the fishy? ;)

Top of egg. That design on top depicts a rainy cloud. A favorite of our wet friends.

And as always here are the previous eggs shown.

Hen egg

Another symbol of Easter, spring fever and the whole newness of things. The hen and her eggs. I think more so then some silly bunny hiding eggs.
Now a chocolate bunny is another thing. Yum.

Oh and if you're wondering technically Easter is still going on according to the Christian calendar. It goes right up until Pentecost so I'm not late or a slow poke. I already had finished these weeks ago and clear coated them. I just like to make the joy of sharing, last. ;)

Almost the top of the egg.
A bright blazing sun.

Resurrection egg

A nice purple egg with the a resurrection theme. OK technically I don't have Jesus directly on the egg but I still have the symbolism. Besides there's not a whole lot of room on the egg for details like having angels around a tomb. But I still have the other stuff on there. Anyways here it is.

Canada and Croatia egg

Its another set of red and blue eggs only with a flag theme this time. The Canada and Croatia egg.
I decided to create an egg which reflected my birth country Canada while the Croatian egg was based on where my parents came from. So it was only fitting to make these. If this proved interesting to other people other then me I may consider making other flag versions next year when there are more plaster eggs being sold in the stores.  Hope you like them.  :)

Tulip and Camomile egg

This time I got a two for one deal in a flower theme.
Again both eggs are in a nice folksy art style.

The first one is a bit of a tulip design on red background. It sort of looks like a Dutch egg design but an expert in this can probably do a better job then then I have but then I'm only looking for something that is close to that. For the blue egg I decided to make it a camomile theme design since I just love the white camomile against the blue background of a box of a tea I once drank as a child. I don't think they make those any more unless they have a new design that I don't recognize.

After I complete colouring all the eggs I'll probably clear coat for protection, clean up this dusty basket that sitting in the corner of a neglected living room and place the finished eggs in that. Going to look really egg-strodinary.

Latest egg designs can also be soon seen at my website as well.

Polka-dot egg

The first Easter egg completed is a simple spotted one inspired by the Super Mario bro's video games.
It was made to look like a Yoshi egg but not like the more common green egg in the games. I wanted to have a white egg with pink spots.

Expect the Easter eggs to get more intricate but will have a "folksy" look to them.
Maybe down the line I may do other themed eggs like character eggs or based on shows eggs but for now these are good enough. :)

Also these eggs are not the real thing. Instead I used these nice plaster eggs I found at a discount store such as Giant Tiger.
They already had some designs on them so I had to sand them off and gesso them to prepare them.

I may plan on purchasing and making more in the future if I feel like it.

Happy Easter. :)

Projects to be made....

Started working on some new small projects.
1. Is going to be a decorated light switch with some of the shells I collected in past vacations to Florida.
A great use for some of my souvenirs for an otherwise boring object on the wall. Plus I really go sick of looking at that old light switch plate with the plastic corner chipped out of edge. That thing has been there for ages. Also later I can always take my little art piece with me should I need to.

2. Finally got around to painting those fake Easter eggs. I bought them last year but never got around to do much with them. I got as far as sanding down those generic images that came with the eggs and then gessoing them for colour. I coloured one white egg with pink spots. It reminds me of a Yoshi egg from the Mario bro's games.
I hope to colour more in the next day or so. So we'll have to see if I get around to showing them off in time for Easter. Maybe afterwords but that's OK.

3. I'm removing some old patchwork decorations from an old pair of jeans I decorated years ago, The patches are still great so I plan on sewing them back on to an old jean jacket along with another large patch I salvaged from an old jean purse. I think it'll look great.

4. Last but not least there's this really old project I like to finish that I started long ago but sort of forgot about. Will explain later.

Then there's always more vector graphics to be made.

Cherub Baby Oops

A little late this time, but for next year's Valentines day, it'll be just in time.
Its a twin version of the NewYear Baby Oops I made a few years ago only in Cherub form.

Also now viewable at my web site. Probably at several different places of mine too.

Blue Moth with LED Bulb

New year, new vector.
A new spin on an old classic. A blue moth in love with the concept of this new kind tech and the fact of not dieing from the heat of the older bulb types. Not sure if I'm going to make another one of these but then you never know what kind of tech may come down the road in the future. So will see.
Now available for viewing on my web site too.

Dunking Dunked.

Just finished my newest and latest online portfolio. I need yet another mini port site since Dunked decided that we can all pay rich peoples money. So I had to dunk the Dunked. Oh well. Just as well this new place is way more flexible and more generous for my needs. At first the impressions I got from this site, snooty, pompous, for overly stuck up design artistes. But then I actually dove in and it wasn't so bad after all. Just to show you that you can't judge a book by its cover. So glad I didn't over look this place. Just hope it stays this way. What a great service for a basic account. Its generous with its space, and with a bit of tinkering very easy to use. One down side is that its a bit time consuming with the layout. Other then that this site is great.
So anyways yeah I needed a decent backup site to show things to people since my main site isn't always that reliable for it to be online. So hopefully this lasts quite awhile.
Check it out your self. ALLYOU

The secret treasure vault refurbished

Treasure/collection site now up and renovated. But it still needs a few bugs worked out due to the aging of my web site builder program. The fonts mainly Arial does not show correctly when you see my site in the latest FireFox or InternetExplorer. I think WebSiteCreator could use an update. Its showing as Times Roman. Going to have to figure out a work around in the mean time. I also may go back and add a few teeny animated surprises to the title pic. But over all I really think the new renovations turned out great.

Also if you look carefully on my main site there is a secret way of getting to the treasure/collection site. Try and find it if you like.

Treasure Spike

Yes! Finally completed.
After all those delays due to things breaking like my computer and then there’s the constant interruptions. Its finally done. Speaking of interruptions, still get interrupted while I'm working. Most annoying when you get in the zone and you loose your place or thought possess on how you are going to do something. Some things just have lots of details and if you get distracted well, you get annoying mistakes.

Anyways its another Spike the tiger illustration and this time its for my treasure/collection half of my site which as been under refurbishment for over a year. Of course it will be a bit till I recalibrate things as I said before and organize things. Oh yeah here's the original drawings and previous completed illustration with the same theme in case you're interested.

 Full image^
Close up so you can see some details. ^

FYI
The illustration was completed the same way as the last one with PhotoShop using the digital graphics technique. Oh yeah and another thing, in case you haven't noised or maybe don't care, (too bad!)I didn't bother adding the blue spiked collar since you wouldn't really see it properly any how. It would just look too weird and make him look like he had horns and we all know that Spike isn't evil. Besides horns belong on other animals and things like a tyger. That’s a creature that looks like a wolf that has spikes on its back or some place and curly horns on its head like a ram of some sort. A little trivia for you. ;) Also the treasure chest was actually recycled from an earlier project and used on that part of my site originally only now its refurbished. Refurbishing seems to be the thing these days, am I right? :)

Actual progress

Happy to say I actually got some of my illustration done. Also good news, its almost done.
After all the stuff that happened this year with stuff breaking with my computer being one of them things have finally settled down enough for me to actually get some things completed. Hopefully now I can finally get caught up not to mention get back to some paying jobs soon considering my job provider has been keeping in touch too. Thank goodness. Hears hoping for things to get better.

Expect to see something here soon, just not on my website for a bit. Still have to reconfigure that since the great data move to my new computer.

Monarch Butterfly tee-shirt 1

Finally got the thing done after many distractions. Actually it was completed weeks ago but only recently got around to posting about it.

It’s a bit of an experiment. I’m using a heat transfer that I designed and for the first time I used it as a guide for airbrushing the artwork.

Pro, it was easy to airbrush light colours on a multi-coloured tee such as this tie dye tee I made a number of years ago. Con, you can’t place frisket or some other paint blockers on to already painted areas on the heat transfer image or you may run into annoyances like peeling paint. With that said with I just repainted those areas that peeled, by hand then reairbrushed the damaged areas.  No problem.  Then I added some very small gems on the antennas for that extra something.  Finally I gave it a few shots of clear coat just to make sure. Hopefully that did the trick for making it last with out scratches for instance.

Over all it looks great but just not sure if I can heat set the design. Still have to figure that one out.

I have another look-a-like in the works and hopefully I can work on it soon.

Also can be seen on my web site soon.
